Came in on a Sunday morning as we headed out of town down the 38. It started to rain and they moved us in from the patio inside with ease when our food was ready. I had my dog with me, but just put him in the car while we ate. I ordered the chicken fried steak with Lumberjack potatoes. Chicken fried steak was smothered in gravy but still crispy underneath, love that. The potatoes were flavorful and soft. Next time I'd probably get crispy hashbrowns. My friend got the corned beef hash and it looked tasty and a solid portion size. We all finished our food in our party of 5. I'd say it was a good experience for all. Table was a tad small for 5 but we made it work. Also noise level was perfect. We could carry on conversation with each other at a normal volume, which was nice. Parking fills up quick but it's not impossible to find a spot. We rolled 5 vehicles deep and were able to find close parking.

Ohhhh man there's steak chilaquiles are to die for!!! They are the best I have ever had! This place is awsome! Great service too. Their American breakfast is so delicious as well eggs country fried steak bacon so yummy.

If you're looking for a family owned, authentic Mexican American food, this is it! Large portions, friendly service, and I LOVE when the young man is working- great way to teach the kids hard work (when I say family owned I want kidding). My hubby is a big fan of their chilaquiles, I like this omelettes with biscuits and gravy, and our boys like their waffles and pancakes! This time around, we went a little later, more towards lunch, so my husband opted for their Cubana torta! It had chicken, steak, cubana sausage and all the fixings! We've had many workers come up the mountain and this is their favorite spot. There are all Latin and.know good Latin food when they taste it! I don't get how they have less than five stars, but try it fod yourself!

Excellent service family run business. Wait staff is kind & attentive. Food is quick & delicious with large portions. The cheese was light for my ham & cheese omelette though... I really should've asked for double even triple because I really expected a lot more cheese. The place is rustic but very clean & cozy. Hometown vibes all around. Only real complaint is that their posted hours online are not accurate please update!

Second to our last day of vacay in Big Bear and of course we came to the ever-so-consistently great Lumberjack Cafe. Both of us trying something new and so glad we did!!!! The flavor of my Hollandaise sauce on my scrambled eggs Benedict was so pleasing to my palate I ate more than my usual small portion and am too full right now lol. Husband enjoyed getting green and red sauce side-by-side as suggested by Alicia since he couldn't decide on his amazing chilaquiles with homemade chips and sauces. Service was wonderful as always with that personal touch and a beautiful smile!!! Am bummed that our last breakfast visit will already be tomorrow. When we started my annual bday trips to big bear over a decade ago we went to many restaurants for breakfast. So thrilled we tried Lumberjack Cafe 2 years ago!

Food was great! Alicia is the best waitress Love the decorum! The only place to eat when in big bear!

Food was great... Logger potatoes were really good if you like homestyle potatoes. OJ was refreshing. Wait was longggg... We waited almost an hour to be seated. It is a small homestyle diner so I understand why. We were originally quoted 30 mins, then that passed and we were still outside waiting... It was Sunday around 10am, we were the last of the breakfast/brunch guests I'd estimate. Overall, it was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal but probably because we were also hangry. If you come, just plan to wait a while if it is full. Service was great as well.

This is a sweet little community cafe filled with locals who are loved on by the servers. We also saw a few hikers. We tried the full breakfast with eggs bacon and pancakes- one sourdough and one buttermilk. The sourdough have a strong sourdough flavor; we liked the buttermilk pancakes the best. We can see why the locals like it so much.

Small and quaint. Local spot for the people who live in Big Bear. Rude a$$ old man yelled at my daughter to close the door. Immediately changed his tune when I walked in behind her. The food was okay. Nothing to write home about. The coffee wasn't very hot. the hot chocolate looked delicious. Small spot, so be prepared to wait. If you're a big guy like me, its kind of uncomfortable. Overall the waitress' are nice and the food was good. The bathrooms are small, so again, not very good for fluffy individuals like myself. I liked it. I'll be back.

My bf and I were looking for a nice cozy breakfast place to eat at and we saw the amazing reviews and decided to try this place out. My bf had gotten the two egg breakfast with bacon, hash browns, wheat toast, and I had gotten the chilaquiles with green sauce. Service is very fast and we didn't wait that long either. The place is super clean and I just love the portions. This place is definitely the most coziest cafe I've been to and is definitely come back again!
